I'm a British photographer/filmmaker and I live on a boat in The Mediterranean.
A few weeks ago, I was anchored with about 1000 other boats, just south of Cannes and I noticed the lack of interaction between crews. People would sometimes wave, but that was about it.
So I made a cocktail and had a think ..... and the "Friendly Flag" idea popped into my head.
And if you knew me, you'd know I like to follow through.
I hope you meet some nice people flying your Friendly Flags.

UPDATE - There are over 1900 Friendly Flags out there so far. I've spotted several in Malta already. The new flags are much more durable. It you have a Friendly Flag, please post a pic of it anywhere on social media. ThanksSP.
